If This Is All We Have
03:23
|
|||
The days pass too fast to keep track of time
The past year has seemed like the blink of an eye
With friends that we've lost, and lessons that we've learned
We question our meaning, we question our worth
but look at us now, we need no change
this is the way that it needs to stay
If this is all we have, then we're okay.
If this is all we have, then we're okay.
Because we've go ourselves and we've got our youth, yeah we're okay.
If this is all we have, then we're okay.
We learned not to listen to all that we heard
We took on the bullshit, we took on the world
And just for a while we thought we were screwed
But somehow we held on and we made it through
but look at us now, we need no change
this is the way that it needs to stay
If this is all we have, then we're okay.
If this is all we have, then we're okay.
Because we've go ourselves and we've got our youth, yeah we're okay.
If this is all we have, then we're okay.

Australian Sun
02:42
|
|||
I set off from New England when I was 21
Across the bold Pacific, I chased the ocean sun
I landed in Australia with nothing on my mind
All the rain and the snow I left behind
We drank our hearts in King's Cross - got pinched pissing on The Rocks
Got friendly with the whores of George St, and woke up in our socks
When you're drinking in Australia, the fun's a glass away
and that Southern Cross comes shining til the break of the next day.
From George St, up to Bondi Beach.
From King's Cross up into The Rocks.
The monumental sight of a Darling Harbour night.
I spent some of the best days of my life.
When you wake up in the morning, hungover and out of fun
make sure you grab your sunnies before you meet that Australian sun.
That old Australian sun, that old Australian sun
Teamed up with last night's Goon bag, and they got me on the run.
Said aye man Johnny! hand me my gun
I've got myself a duel with that old Australian sun
That old Australian sun, that old Australian sun
When those rays of noon come shining, you ain't gonna have no fun
From George St, up to Bondi Beach.
From King's Cross up into The Rocks.
The monumental sight of a Darling Harbour night.
I spent some of the best days of my life.
Then I met a girl, her hair was blond, her eyes were blue, her skin was tan.
She said she wanted to see the body of an American.
That morning on the harbor when I said goodbye to her
I told her that I always would come back to her one day
and as the sunset falls to meet the evening on the hill
I told her I always loved her, I always did, I always will.
From George St, up to Bondi Beach.
From King's Cross up into The Rocks.
The monumental sight of a Darling Harbour night.
I spent some of the best days of my life.

Raining Again
04:07
|
|||
I awoke from a dream where an army of men marched to the beat of a tin snare
as I awoke, the sound transformed to raindrops in the air.
the falling of the rain on the skylight glass was the only sound in ear.
a rainy morning in Paris, then left me stranded here.
Well I counted my change for to catch the train
as the rain kept falling down.
and if I had another 20 cents, then I wouldn't be here right now.
It's raining again and I can't stop the rain.
It's gonna fall no matter what so I can't complain.
It's raining again and I can't stop the rain.
I guess today I'm singing in the rain.
I awoke in Catalonia to the same familiar beat.
The only other sounds were the tires making scars across the street.
I grew drear as the time came near to sail across the sea.
The waves they splashed onto my pack and soaked me to my feet.
I sat on a roof in Italy under an overhang.
I watched the water spiraling into the gutter drain.
The vibrations in the puddle from the falling drops made a fractal like design.
And each drop makes its presence known, just like our place in time.
